The UST Biochemistry Society is the main organization for all Biochemistry students at the University of Santo Tomas. Its mission is to serve several objectives: (1) to foster camaraderie and positive relationships among members; (2) to identify and address societal issues through collective action; (3) to establish rules and regulations that benefit the society; (4) to organize academic seminars and scientific symposiums that contribute to the department's growth and promote Biochemistry and related fields; (5) to collaborate with the UST Research Center for the Natural and Applied Sciences (UST-RCNAS) in scientific research; (6) to engage in community development through volunteerism; and (7) to encourage participation in activities that foster both intellectual and social development. The society envisions itself as a key formative organization within a Catholic institution, aiming to produce Biochemists who are well-rounded in both professional and moral aspects. The goal is to foster social transformation, academic excellence, and idealism in the fields of molecular research, biotechnology, and biochemistry. It also aims to promote a professional attitude and align with the University's mission and vision. As a recognized academic organization, the UST Biochemistry Society is deeply rooted in the University’s research-oriented courses, focusing on biotechnology and biochemistry, in line with the quadricentennial tradition of competence, compassion, and commitment. The society plays a crucial role in encouraging friendly competition among members, raising social awareness through outreach programs, and shaping students into Thomasian biochemists who excel academically and are committed to serving others. Ultimately, the organization strives to produce graduates who embody a strong sense of service to the university, their country, and the world.
