The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) at Baras-Baras High School is a student-led environmental advocacy group committed to fostering environmental awareness, protection, and sustainability within the school and the wider community. As the official co-curricular organization for environmental concerns, YES-O serves as a platform for students to actively engage in meaningful initiatives that promote ecological conservation, instill a sense of environmental responsibility, and encourage sustainable practices. Recognizing the growing threats of climate change, pollution, and environmental degradation, YES-O implements various programs and activities such as tree planting, clean-up drives, proper waste management campaigns, and disaster preparedness initiatives. Through these efforts, students are empowered to become proactive agents of change who contribute to the protection and preservation of natural resources. The organization also integrates environmental education into its projects, ensuring that students are well-informed about pressing environmental issues and equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to take action. In collaboration with government agencies, non-government organizations, and local communities, YES-O strengthens its advocacy by fostering partnerships that enhance the impact and sustainability of its initiatives. Furthermore, the organization encourages student leadership and volunteerism, nurturing a culture of environmental stewardship among young learners. By engaging students in hands-on environmental projects and community-driven activities, YES-O instills a deep appreciation for nature and inspires them to adopt eco-friendly lifestyles. The organization envisions a school community where learners take an active role in protecting the environment, demonstrating responsibility in maintaining a clean, green, and disaster-resilient school. Ultimately, YES-O at Baras-Baras High School aims to shape a generation of environmentally conscious individuals who are not only advocates of sustainable development but also committed to making a lasting positive impact on the planet.
