The Learner Government Commission on Elections and Appointments (LG-COMEA) is the official body tasked with managing and overseeing the entire process of learner government elections and appointments within the school of Eastern Samar National Comprehensive High School (ESNCHS). Its primary role is to ensure that all electoral activities are conducted fairly, transparently, and in strict accordance with the learner government’s Constitution and By-Laws. The commission upholds the core values and principles of the Department of Education by setting and enforcing rules and regulations that govern the election and appointment processes. It exercises jurisdiction over all related matters, validating candidates, supervising election procedures, approving official results, and administering oath-taking ceremonies. By maintaining impartiality and independence, the LG-COMEA safeguards the rights of learners to participate actively in democratic processes, fostering leadership, civic engagement, and responsible governance among students. Ultimately, the commission aims to empower learners to develop their leadership skills and contribute meaningfully to their school community, in line with the Department of Education’s goal of promoting youth participation in nation-building and holistic education. Through its work, the LG-COMEA encourages learners to exercise their rights responsibly and to appreciate the value of collective decision-making. By facilitating a credible and well-organized electoral process, the LG COMEA helps cultivate future leaders who are equipped with the knowledge, values, and experience necessary to serve their communities effectively. The LG-COMEA spearheads all election processes of various organizations inside the ESNCHS campus and organizes the officers to follow for every school year. The LG-COMEA practices an unbiased approach during elections and requires its members not to engage in any campaigns so as to ensure impartiality and democracy. The LG-COMEA protects the sanctity of the ballots, prepares the miting de avance, and ensures safe and friendly campaign periods inside the school premises.
