RC 143 Buenavista Chapter is a trained volunteer unit under the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), operating within the barangay of Buenavista. RC 143 is a flagship community-based program that empowers local volunteers to respond effectively during emergencies and disasters. The name "RC 143" symbolizes the ideal structure of the programs in barangay, all trained and mobilized to act as the first responders in their own communities. The trained volunteers of RC 143 Buenavista Chapter have undergone extensive training in disaster preparedness, first aid, basic life support, community health, and emergency response. They are equipped to assess local risks, disseminate early warnings, assist in evacuation, provide first aid, support relief distribution, and help in recovery efforts during and after calamities. Their presence strengthens the grassroots disaster risk reduction and management system of the municipality.
