As stated on the constitution and BY-LAWS of the organization under article II, that the SSC is a democratic and republican organization that shall promote the rights and welfare of the students in which the power emanates from them; upholds the ideals of the university code geared towards fulfillment of academic excellence and its vision of guaranteeing well-developed students; believes in the principles that the significant role of the students shall be realized through representation, participation, collaboration, transparency, accountability, unity, and efficiency amongst them; shall not be partisan in all forms of exploitation and complaints submitted by the students or plaintiff; shall be the voice of the studentry in all aspects of academic and financial concerns of this university; shall initiate and implement projects and resolutions in accordance with university code that will uplift the academic performance of studentry in attaining academic excellence; Under Article II Section 7. The SSC affirms the following objectives: a. To build a strong and cohesive student organization that help and support the academic institution as a whole; b. To harness and develop students’ potentialities and talents in uplifting the academic excellence for conducive learning; c. To be responsible for any activities that the school administration allows for the studentry; d. To serve as implementing body and its instrument in the compelling program of the administration with the approval of the organization; e. Demand a genuine democratic participation and representation in all policy-making bodies on issues and concerns that affect the students; f. Encourage, train, and develop a student for leadership roles; and g. Promote national consciousness and social responsibility that will serve the interest of the student. Under Article II Section 8. The SSC aims to initiate and develop physical, intellectual, moral, cultural, civic, spiritual, and political interest which should not be contrary to the university code of MSU and the Philippine Constitution.
