Last July 2001, the Program Youth Coordinator of Notre Dame of Jolo College Peace Center organized PEACE ANIMATORS CORE GROUP (Peace Animators’ Club) to serve as manpower of Peace Center Program who manifests concrete mechanism in actualizing various activities, projects and programs. We need individuals (students) who can render services through their talents, time, and commitment to the office (Peace Center) and serve as volunteers. The Peace Center Program also provides avenues for the Peace Animators members to live-out the Vision-Mission Statement of Peace Center, its goals and objectives, and to develop a sense of responsibility and social consciousness based on the NDJC Vision-Mission that promotes peace and justice. Our organization aims to train Peace Animator’s Club members and enhance the capacities of community leaders in peacebuilding and conflict transformation. It promotes the values of peace, social teaching, and participatory decision-making through consultations and collaboration. The organization supports coordination with peace organizations at all levels, fosters educational and personal development, and preserves unity among members. It also engages with religious scholars, renders humanitarian services, supports civil authorities in peace efforts, and encourages cooperation and friendship within society.
