The Hilongos for Environment Youth Organization (HEYO) is a youth-led, non-governmental organization founded to serve as a catalyst for environmental awareness, action, and sustainability in the municipality of Hilongos. Established by young leaders passionate about environmental advocacy, HEYO aims to empower the youth sector to take an active role in addressing ecological issues through education, collaboration, and grassroots initiatives. The organization envisions a community where young people are central to the environmental movement, shaping a greener and more resilient future for all. HEYO’s primary objectives are to promote environmental literacy among the youth and the wider community, encourage sustainable practices through local campaigns and clean-up drives, and collaborate with local government units and other stakeholders in planning and implementing environmental programs. It also seeks to provide platforms for dialogue, volunteerism, and capacity-building to strengthen youth involvement in environmental governance. By fostering collective action and shared responsibility, HEYO aims to build a strong network of eco-conscious individuals committed to protecting and restoring the natural environment of Hilongos and beyond.
