The Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP) recognizes the crucial role of young people in advancing its mission, embedding youth leadership in its governance with a mandated 20% youth representation at both chapter and national levels. The FPOP Youth Core Group serves as the youth arm of the organization, leading in the implementation of youth-led programs, policy advocacy, and community engagement initiatives. Youth members, elected through democratic processes, are empowered to represent their peers, draft policies, and deliver youth-centered services, especially in the area of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SHR). The Local and National Youth Leaders Assemblies (LYLA and NYLA) are essential annual gatherings for leadership training, experience-sharing, and the formulation of youth-driven programs aligned with FPOP's vision. Volunteers are further developed through structured orientations and competency-based training, fostering meaningful youth participation in planning, implementation, and monitoring of programs. Objectives: • To strengthen youth leadership and representation within FPOP at both chapter and national levels. • To develop and implement youth-focused programs that promote SHR education, access, and advocacy. • To build the capacities of youth volunteers through continuous mentorship, training, and peer support. • To promote inclusivity, ensuring youth participation across gender, culture, and social backgrounds. • To institutionalize regular communication and feedback mechanisms between youth members and FPOP governance structures. • To uphold accountability, transparency, and sustainability in youth-led initiatives through sound financial and operational management. • To foster strategic partnerships and alliances that enhance the reach and impact of youth programs.
