Education, Social Inclusion and Equity
The Ang Malaya, an organization composed of young journalists from Marcelo H. del Pilar National High School, remains steadfast in its mission to utilize journalism as a powerful tool to uncover truths that inform and inspire the youth towards meaningful change and progress. In today’s context, it is vital to equip young journalists with the necessary skills and knowledge to actively participate in discussions on social issues and community affairs. The organization likewise upholds the integration of the Department of Education’s core values—Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan, and Makabansa by fostering integrity, empathy, environmental stewardship, and national pride among student journalists. Through the promotion of ethical journalism, social awareness, and the advocacy of student rights, Ang Malaya empowers its members to engage in responsible and compassionate reporting that serves both the community and the nation. This commitment not only refines their journalistic competencies but also inspires them to become conscientious and active citizens.
