Visionary Brief and Objectives: Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) is a co-curricular organization established by the Department of Education (DepEd) through Department Order No. 72, s. 2003. It aims to empower Filipino students to become environmental advocates, equipped with knowledge, values, and the spirit of volunteerism to protect and preserve our natural world. YES-O envisions a generation of learners who are environmentally conscious, community-involved, and action-driven youth who serve as stewards of sustainability within their schools and beyond. It serves as a platform where students can transform their concern for the environment into meaningful actions, guided by education, awareness, and collaboration. With the growing urgency of global and local environmental challenges, YES-O acts as a catalyst for change by fostering student leadership in environmental protection and conservation efforts. Through school-based programs and community partnerships, the organization builds the foundation for lifelong environmental responsibility. Objectives: • Raise Environmental Awareness: Promote understanding of environmental issues among students and the broader community through education and campaigns. • Develop and Implement Programs: Create school and community-based projects addressing environmental concerns such as waste management, energy conservation, and climate action. • Foster Environmental Values and Skills: Cultivate attitudes of care, discipline, and responsibility through active participation in environmental activities. • Encourage Stakeholder Engagement: Promote collaboration with local government units, NGOs, and other organizations to support environmental advocacy. • Inspire Youth Participation: Engage students in eco-friendly initiatives that highlight the value of teamwork and volunteerism. Ultimately, YES-O aspires to ignite a lasting commitment among students to lead by example, serve their communities, and create a greener, healthier future for all
