According to the Department of Education (DepEd) policies, particularly DepEd Order No. 72, s. 2003, YES-O serves as the official co-curricular environmental organization of DepEd in secondary schools. Specific Purposes of YES-O: To lead and promote environmental activities in the school and community. To support school and government environmental programs, including proper waste management, tree planting, and disaster preparedness. To develop leadership and volunteerism among students through environmental advocacies and community involvement. To raise awareness on climate change, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development. To integrate environmental values into daily student life and academic subjects. In essence, YES-O empowers learners to become responsible stewards of the environment and active participants in building a sustainable future.
