The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) is a recognized co-curricular organization established under the Department of Education to strengthen the environmental awareness, involvement, and responsibility of the youth. It serves as a catalyst for students to actively participate in various environmental efforts and to take the lead in promoting ecological sustainability within their school and community. YES-O envisions a generation of environmentally literate youth who are committed to addressing environmental challenges through education, leadership, and action. The organization encourages learners to apply their knowledge of science and environmental concepts in real-life situations through activities such as tree planting, coastal or community clean-ups, waste segregation, upcycling projects, school gardening, climate advocacy, and eco-campaigns. YES-O also aims to empower student leaders to take initiative in fostering green practices, promoting climate resilience, and supporting national and global environmental goals such as the Clean and Green Program, the National Greening Program, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
