Youth for Safety (Y4S) is a youth-led, non-profit organization in Iligan City committed to protecting children and young people from all forms of abuse, exploitation, and violence—both offline and online. Guided by the principles of child rights, active citizenship, and community empowerment, Y4S works closely with local government units, schools, barangays, and civil society organizations to promote a culture of safety and accountability. Through education, advocacy, and grassroots action, the organization empowers young people to be frontliners in creating safer communities and digital spaces. Objectives: Promote Awareness and Education – To raise public understanding of child protection issues, including online sexual abuse and exploitation, through targeted campaigns, trainings, and community discussions. Build Youth Capacities – To equip young leaders, parents, and stakeholders with the skills and knowledge to identify, prevent, and respond to threats to children’s safety. Strengthen Multi-Sectoral Partnerships – To foster collaboration among youth, government, civil society, and community institutions for unified and sustained safety initiatives. Advocate for Policies and Systems Change – To influence local policies and strengthen institutional mechanisms that safeguard the rights and well-being of children and youth. Create Safe and Inclusive Spaces – To champion environments—both physical and digital—where children and young people can grow, express themselves, and participate without fear of abuse or exploitation.
