Education
The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) is a co-curricular club recognized by the Department of Education (DepEd) that aims to develop environmental awareness and responsibility among students. The organization serves as a platform for the youth to actively participate in environmental protection, conservation, and sustainability initiatives within and outside the school community. YES-O promotes leadership, volunteerism, and environmental stewardship by empowering students to become responsible caretakers of nature. The club conducts various programs and activities such as clean- up drives, tree planting, waste segregation campaigns, environmental education seminars, recycling projects, and climate change advocacy. Through these activities, the club fosters discipline, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of ecological issues that affect the community and the world. Aligned with the school’s mission and the Department of Education’s environmental policies, YES-O encourages collaboration with local government units, barangay officials, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and other youth groups to amplify environmental efforts. It also aims to integrate eco-friendly practices in the daily lives of students, promoting sustainability within the campus and at home. Objectives: 1. To promote environmental awareness and action among students. 2. To support and participate in school and community-based environmental programs. 3. To develop student leadership in environmental protection and sustainability. 4. To encourage proper waste management, recycling, and conservation practices in school. 5. To participate in national and local campaigns related to climate change, biodiversity, and ecological conservation. 6. To collaborate with stakeholders in implementing environment-related projects. 7. To foster a sense of social and ecological responsibility through student-led initiatives. 8. To integrate environmental education in classroom and extracurricular activities. YES-O envisions a generation of environmentally responsible youth who will lead the way toward a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
