Brief Description: The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) is a co-curricular organization in basic education institutions that promotes environmental awareness, protection, and conservation among students. It serves as the official action arm for school-based environmental programs and projects, fostering active youth participation in initiatives aligned with the Department of Education’s environmental policies. Through various activities such as clean-up drives, ecological campaigns, tree planting, waste management programs, and advocacy projects, YES-O empowers learners to become responsible stewards of the environment and active partners in building sustainable communities. Objectives of YES-O: Promote Environmental Awareness – Increase students’ knowledge and understanding of environmental issues, climate change, and biodiversity conservation. Encourage Active Participation – Engage students in meaningful projects that address local and global environmental challenges. Foster Sustainable Practices – Advocate for waste reduction, recycling, energy conservation, and eco-friendly habits in schools and communities. Build Leadership and Responsibility – Develop leadership skills and a sense of accountability among members in implementing environmental programs. Strengthen Partnerships – Collaborate with school stakeholders, local government units, and other organizations for wider environmental impact.
