The Students Actively Volunteering for Emergency and Rescue (SAVER) Club of Sta. Maria National High School in Bagbaguin, Santa Maria, Bulacan is a special non-academic organization founded by Mr. Jose Arthur B. Tijam Jr. It is committed to promoting safety awareness, disaster preparedness, and community service among students. The club equips its members with knowledge and skills in basic first aid, emergency response, fire safety, and disaster risk reduction, empowering them to become responsible, alert, and service-oriented individuals. Guided by the principle of “Save the Earth, Saves Lives,” the SAVER Club plays an active role in assisting during emergencies, participating in safety drills, and supporting humanitarian and environmental activities that benefit both the school and the community. The objectives of the SAVER Club are to promote safety awareness by educating students about potential hazards and teaching practical responses in times of crisis; enhance preparedness through training in disaster risk reduction, first aid, and rescue operations; and support school and community initiatives by joining safety drills, clean-up drives, and programs that foster a safe environment. The club also aims to develop leadership, discipline, teamwork, and a spirit of volunteerism among its members, enabling them to act as dependable first responders during school-related emergencies and to extend assistance in community relief operations when needed. Above all, the SAVER Club seeks to promote a strong culture of service, compassion, and dedication, instilling in its members’ the values necessary to contribute positively to society.
