Brief Description: Barkada Kontra Bisyo (BKB) is a youth-led, school-based organization in Cauayan City Stand-Alone Senior High School dedicated to promoting a healthy, responsible, and vice-free lifestyle among students and the wider community. Guided by the values of discipline, integrity, and mutual support, BKB stands against all forms of vices that harm the youth and society, including substance abuse, smoking, vaping, alcohol misuse, gambling, and other destructive habits. Through education, peer influence, and community engagement, the organization leads awareness campaigns, organizes prevention programs, and collaborates with the school, health professionals, law enforcement, and other partners to cultivate a safe and supportive environment. BKB also provides peer-led, non-stigmatizing support for those affected by harmful behaviors, empowering learners to make positive choices, foster personal growth, and contribute to a culture of wellness, responsibility, and long-term resilience. Objectives: Curb the development of harmful habits through early awareness campaigns, targeted education, and the influence of positive peer role models. Inform the youth and the broader community about the risks of vices, including substance abuse, tobacco and vape use, alcohol abuse, gambling, and excessive digital consumption. Provide peer-led, non-stigmatizing support for individuals affected by harmful behaviors, facilitating their recovery and reintegration. Partner with the school administration, law enforcement, healthcare providers, mental health professionals, and other youth organizations to implement effective prevention and intervention programs. Maintain a coordinated support network that promotes long-term healing, personal growth, and positive lifestyle choices.
