The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) is a dynamic school-based co-curricular initiative in the Philippines, officially established by the Department of Education in 2003. Its a vital platform for students to actively engage in safeguarding, promoting, and conserving the environment for present and future generations. YES-O aims to be a highly effective and respected environmental organization, forging collaborations with external agencies and institutions. This network is crucial for amplifying efforts toward the conservation and preservation of natural resources, ultimately contributing to sustainable development nationwide. Beyond its foundational role, YES-O is deeply committed to achieving impactful objectives that empower young environmental stewards. A primary aim is to promote comprehensive environmental conservation and encourage robust youth involvement in various initiatives. The organization provides meaningful opportunities for young people to contribute to national service by fostering a deeper understanding of scientific principles, technological advancements, and pressing environmental issues. This approach makes learning informative, engaging and memorable. Secondly, YES-O is dedicated to preserving and conserving vital natural resources. This is achieved by actively raising environmental awareness within school and local communities, encouraging active involvement from individuals and groups in addressing environmentally-related challenges and implementing protective measures. Finally, a core objective is to foster a strong environmental ethic among its members. This involves equipping students with the knowledge and motivation to assess ecological concerns and implement practical, sustainable solutions. These efforts are often undertaken through collaborative partnerships with other organizations and community groups, reinforcing the collective responsibility to protect mother nature.
