The Polantuna Youth Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (PYDRRM) is a Youth Organization established on April 26, 2025, in Barangay Polantuna, Lupi, Camarines Sur. Composed of young individuals age of 15 to 30 years old, PYDRRM is dedicated to empowering the youth of proactive leadership and advocates for disaster resilience and climate change adaptation. The organization envisions a future where the youth of Polantuna are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to effective address disaster risk and climate challenge, fostering a culture of preparedness, volunteerism, and sustainable development. PYDRRM's main Objectives include supporting international, national and regional DRRM and climate change adaptation initiatives, such as Sendai Framework, AADMER, and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management plan (NDRRMP), to ensure that the local actions contribute to broader resilience goals. The Organization aims to build the capacity of its members through training, orientation and active participation in Disaster Planning, Response and Recovery. PYDRRM also focuses on developing and disseminating information, Education, and Communication (IEC)Materials to raise community awareness about disaster risks and climate change. Additionally, PYDRRM seeks to establish strong partnership with the municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Local Government Units, and other stakeholders to strengthen DRRM Programs and ensure inclusive participation. The Organization encourages youth volunteerism, resourcefullness, and the sharing of Best Practices, while also identifying and addressing gaps in Disaster Preparedness through Research and Needs Assessment by fostering cooperation with the other youth organization and DRRM Partner, PYDRRM aims to institutionalize DRRM programs, enhance community resilience, and ensure the prodection of vulnerable sectors such as women, children, senior citizen and persons with disability in all phases of disaster management. Through these efforts, PYDRRM is committed to shaping a safer, more resilient, and adaptive future for Polantuna.
