Health, Education, Peace-Building and Security, Governance, Active Citizenship
Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) is a peer-based organization initiated by the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) and institutionalized by the Department of Education (DepEd) to promote a drug-free lifestyle among Filipino youth. It empowers students to become proactive advocates against illegal drugs by fostering leadership, camaraderie, and responsible decision-making. BKD encourages the active involvement of students in various preventive education activities such as seminars, outreach programs, and creative campaigns that raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse. By building a strong, positive peer group—or “barkada”—it helps protect and guide young people away from the influence of harmful substances.
