Social Inclusion and Equity, Active Citizenship
Samahang Dalaga't Binata (SDB) is a youth-oriented organization that aims to bring together young men and women to promote moral values, social responsibility, and active participation in community life. The group serves as a venue for the youth to express their ideas, strengthen their faith, and contribute to the betterment of their community through service, leadership, and fellowship. The organization traces its roots to Sumilang Chapel, where it was first formed as a small group of devoted young parishioners united by their desire to serve the Church and their community. Rooted in Christian and Filipino values, SDB encourages its members to live with integrity, compassion, and respect for others. SDB also functions as a training ground for personal and spiritual growth. Through various programs such as leadership seminars, outreach activities, and spiritual formation sessions, members are guided to become responsible citizens and future leaders. The organization emphasizes camaraderie and unity, fostering a sense of belonging among the youth regardless of social or economic background. It also plays an important role in maintaining cultural traditions, especially during parish or barangay events, where members take part in liturgical celebrations, social gatherings, and community development initiatives. Samahang Dalaga't Binata, which began in Sumilang Chapel, stands as a strong foundation for shaping the character of young people, helping them develop a deeper understanding of their role in society while inspiring them to lead by example and serve others with joy and humility. Objectives 1. To promote moral and spiritual growth among young men and women through regular faith-based gatherings, retreats, and prayer activities. 2. To develop leadership skills and a sense of responsibility through participation in community projects and organizational roles. 3. To foster unity, cooperation, and friendship among members by organizing social, cultural, and recreational activities that strengthen camaraderie. 4. To encourage active involvement in community service, particularly in parish and barangay programs aimed at helping the less fortunate. 5. To uphold Filipino values and traditions, preserving cultural identity while adapting to modern societal changes. 6. To inspire the youth to become role models who live with integrity, compassion, and dedication to faith and community.
