Education, Social Inclusion and Equity, Peace-Building and Security, Governance, Active Citizenship
The Supreme Secondary Learner’s Government (SSLG) of Tarragona National High School is the highest governing student body officially recognized by the Department of Education under DepEd Order No. 47, s. 2014, which institutionalizes student governments in all public secondary schools in the Philippines. The SSLG serves as the center of student leadership, promoting democratic participation, leadership development, and civic responsibility among learners. It aims to represent the student body in expressing their ideas, rights, and welfare while fostering a culture of discipline, cooperation, and service. The organization’s core programs include leadership training, student welfare projects, campus community outreach, and collaboration with school administration for student-centered initiatives. The SSLG also upholds the values of transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in governance—ensuring that every student’s voice contributes to the school’s progress. The SSLG–TNHS was formally established following the election of officers in accordance with the standard election code prescribed by DepEd, and it continues to align its programs with national student leadership thrusts and NYC’s advocacy for active citizenship. At present, SSLG–TNHS consists of 12 active members dedicated to service, leadership, and excellence, committed to shaping a responsive and empowered student community.
