The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) of Tarragona National High School was established to promote environmental awareness, leadership, and active participation among students in protecting and conserving nature. The organization aims to encourage environmental responsibility, sustainable practices, and youth involvement in ecological projects that contribute to the welfare of the school and community. YES-O also upholds the principles of environmental education, proper waste management, and climate action in support of the Department of Education’s programs for sustainability. The organization was formally established after the selection of officers and officially began its first operation on July 14, 2025, through a Clean-Up Patrol conducted daily within the school campus. This activity aimed to maintain cleanliness, discipline, and environmental awareness among students while strengthening cooperation between members and school staff. The Clean-Up Patrol became the foundation for YES-O’s continuing programs such as waste segregation, tree planting, recycling initiatives, environmental seminars, and information campaigns that promote eco-friendly behavior. Over time, YES-O Tarragona National High School has evolved into an active and dynamic organization that continues to lead environmental initiatives within and beyond the school community. It works closely with teachers, local partners, and government agencies to promote environmental stewardship and sustainability. At present, YES-O Tarragona National High School proudly has 125 active members and counting, all dedicated to making a positive impact toward a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
