Peace-Building and Security
Brief Description: The Batang Emergency Response Team (BERT) is a student-led organization established under the School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SDRRM) program. It empowers students to be proactive leaders and first responders during emergencies and disasters. BERT members are trained in basic first aid, evacuation procedures, fire safety, and risk assessment to enhance the school’s overall preparedness and resiliency. By fostering a culture of safety, volunteerism, and community involvement, BERT helps ensure a swift and organized response during critical situations. Objectives: ?To promote awareness among students on disaster risk reduction, preparedness, and response through continuous training and simulation drills. ?To develop the knowledge and skills of student members in emergency response such as basic life support, first aid, and incident command systems. ?To encourage leadership and teamwork by involving students in safety planning, peer education, and coordinated emergency response activities. ?To assist the school SDRRM Committee in implementing safety protocols and maintaining order during actual emergencies and disaster situations. ?To instill a sense of responsibility and volunteerism in the youth toward building safer, more disaster-resilient communities.
