The Mindanao State University Scholars’ Society (MSUSS) is semi-academic organization from Mindanao State University guided by the same motivation and interest which is to enhance the quality of Philippine Education and strengthen members’ leadership skills through quality scholastic performance. The society was founded on August 6, 2003 by Mr. Noel D. Rabuyo with more than eighty(80) freshmen Academic and Science Scholars ratifying the constitution and serving as the first batch of applicants. The earlier was trimmed down to eighteen (18) which became the pioneering members of the MSUSS. The MSUSS aims to: (1) advance the interest of the members, (2) maintain the environment that is conducive to the attainment of academic excellence, (3) promote unity and understanding among members, (4) serve as the forum for the expression of ideas and sentiments of general significance, (5) train and develop members for leadership roles, (6) develop strong sense of responsibility and consciousness with the end view of contributing to the establishment of a just and humane society, (7) contribute to the attainment of the society’s objectives. With its 20 years of existence, the MSUSS excels as an exemplary semi-academic organization in the campus having sponsored and organized a number of academic-related and extra-curricular activities. To name some, the MSUSS has organized the first MSUSS cross Country Rueminar on Memory Power, Seminar on Religious Awareness towards Understanding Islam and Christianity, Seminar and Workshop on Journalism and Public Speaking, Seminar-Workshop on basic Parliamentary Procedures in Conducting Meeting, Seminar-Workshop on Campus Journalism, Educational Outreach Program, Annual Enrollment Assistance Program, Seminar on Thesis Writing, Brain Blitz, Health Quiz Show, Seminar-Workshop on Mental Health Awareness, Seminar on First Aid Training for Major Injuries (Part I & II0, Peace Education Program, Seminar-Workshop on Mental Fitness, and the Annual MSUSS Campus Quiz Show – the blood of life of the organization. MSUSS has also earned its moniker as being the “Mother of moving quiz shows”.
