Education
The Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) is the highest student governing body in secondary schools under the Department of Education (DepEd). It serves as the official organization representing the voice of learners, promoting student participation in school governance, leadership, and community involvement. Guided by democratic principles, the SSLG empowers students to become proactive leaders who embody discipline, responsibility, and service. It acts as a bridge between the learners and the school administration, ensuring that students’ concerns, ideas, and initiatives are recognized and addressed. Through various programs, projects, and advocacies, the SSLG fosters a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and volunteerism among the student body. It aims to develop learners who are not only academically competent but also socially aware, morally upright, and committed to making a positive impact in their school and community. The SSLG’s objectives include promoting leadership and participation by developing student leaders who exemplify integrity, accountability, and excellence; fostering citizenship and service through civic engagement and community-based initiatives; and enhancing communication and collaboration among students, teachers, and school administrators. Additionally, it strives to advance learner welfare and holistic development by implementing programs that support academic growth, mental health, inclusivity, and environmental awareness. Most importantly, the SSLG upholds the core values of the Department of Education—Maka-Diyos, Maka-tao, Makakalikasan, and Makabansa—in all its endeavors. Through its leadership, service, and advocacy, the Supreme Secondary Learner Government becomes a vital instrument in shaping young leaders who are empowered to serve with compassion, lead with integrity, and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s progress.
