The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) is a government-recognized youth organization under the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). Its main objective is to develop empowered, responsible, and socially involved Filipino youth. Core Objectives of PYAP Youth Empowerment & Leadership – Develop leadership skills, confidence, and decision-making among out-of-school youth and other marginalized youth. Values Formation & Character Building – Promote good values such as discipline, responsibility, volunteerism, and patriotism. Active Citizenship – Encourage youth participation in community development, governance, and nation-building. Social Protection & Advocacy – Protect the rights and welfare of youth and engage them in advocacies against social issues (e.g., abuse, trafficking, drugs). Skills Development & Productivity – Provide life skills, livelihood training, and opportunities for personal growth and self-reliance. Community Service – Mobilize youth to take part in community projects, disaster response, and humanitarian activities.
