Education, Social Inclusion and Equity, Active Citizenship
The Filipino Independent Church or the Iglesia Filipina Independiente (IFI) is steered by its youth, in a sense. The IFI young people have adopted nationalism and self-rule as their ideals and therefore engage in various activities within the church that exemplify their involvement in society. Devoted to the principles of the IFI, the youth engages in worship, education, and community outreach. By engaging in these activities, they contribute actively towards making the world a better place. Participation of youths in religious acts indicates strong commitment to beliefs promoting faith cohesion within IFI. Education is vital for the youth because they want to understand better theology and what has happened historically with this church. This information empowers them to be articulate defenders of what IFI stands for inclusivity and progressive thoughts. This kind of dedication does not only edify young Christians but also helps them navigate through contemporary life complexities. Away from church premises, Filipino Independent Church's youth take part in various forms of social activism such as environmentalism, human rights concerns and many others.
