The Gawad Kalinga Youth Organization - Isabela State University (GKYO-ISU) is a nation-building student organization based at the Echague Campus of Isabela State University. Affiliated with the broader Gawad Kalinga non-profit movement, the organization is dedicated to a vision of a nation empowered by people with faith and patriotism, specifically through caring communities that work to elliminate poverty and restore human dignity. Its core mission is to contribute to the goal of ending poverty for five million families and engaging 20,000 barangays through platforms of solidarity. The primary objectives of GKYO-ISU focus on direct community impact and member development. Specifically, the organization aims to: Organize community activities: Implement initiatives in adopted communities designed to alleviate poverty and prevent hunger. Capacity building: Engage members in workshops and activities that deepen their passion and develop their potential for the mission. Youth inspiration: Actively recruit and inspire other youth to join the GKYO-ISU mission. Social innovation: Develop and implement innovative solutions to address the unique challenges faced by their partner communities. Guided by its Preamble, the organization seeks to build a "culture of caring and sharing" among the youth. This commitment is further reflected in the personal pledges required of its officers, who vow to never stop caring for others, to maintain hope for their country, and to demand greatness from themselves as Filipinos. Through these objectives, GKYO-ISU operates as a localized campus body that aligns with national Gawad Kalinga goals while addressing the specific needs and schedules of its university environment.
