Education
The Supreme Secondary Learners Government (SSLG) under the Department of Education is the top student governing body in public secondary schools in the Philippines. It functions as the official representative of the student population, safeguarding their interests, concerns, and overall well-being. Previously called the Supreme Student Government (SSG), it was reorganized and enhanced by DepEd to encourage inclusive, participatory, and values-oriented leadership among learners. The SSLG serves as a link between students and school administrators, making sure that learners have an active role in the planning, execution, and assessment of school activities and programs. The SSLG primarily aims to nurture leadership abilities, strengthen student involvement in school governance, and protect the rights. and responsibilities of learners. It initiates and supports programs that promote academic achievement, mental health awareness, environmental sustainability, discipline, and community engagement. Additionally, it fosters unity, mutual respect, and collaboration among students while promoting patriotism and civic responsibility. Through various projects, campaigns, and student-led efforts, the SSLG contribute to building a positive school climate where learners are empowered to grow into responsible citizens and future leaders.
