The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) of Pedro Mariscal National High School, locally known as ECOPEDRONIAN, is a student-led environmental organization committed to promoting environmental awaareness, conservation, and sustainable practices within the school and the community. As an active partner of the Department of Education's environmental programs, ECOPEDRONIAN serves as a platform for learners to become responsible stewards of nature and advocates of environmental protection. ECOPEDRONIAN aims to cultivate a culture of environmental responsibility by empowering students to take active roles in protecting and preserving natural resources. The organization promotes awareness and action on key environmental issues such as solid waste management, climate change, biodiversity conservation, energy and water conservation, and disaster risk reduction. The objectives of ECOPEDRONIAN are to: 1. Promote environmental awareness and strengthen students' knowledge and appreciation of nature. 2. Encourage active student participation in environmental protection and sustainability programs. 3. Implement school-based initiatives such as waste segregation, recycling, tree growing, clean-up drives, and resource conservation. 4. Develop environmentally responsible behaviors and practices among learners. 5. Support national and local environmental campaigns and the programs of the Department of Education. 6. Foster leadership, teamwork, and volunteerism through environmental action projects. 7. Strengthen partnerships with the school, community, and local stakeholders in promoting environmental sustainability. 8. Inspire students to become proactive citizens who contribute to the protection and preservation of the environmenet. Through its programs and activities, ECOPEDRONIAN nurtures empowered, disciplined, and environmentally conscious learners who take part in building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
