The Student Emergency Preparedness and Response Organization (SEPRO) of Pedro Mariscal National High School (PMNHS) is a student-led organization committed to promoting a culture of safety, preparedness, and resilience within the school and community. SEPRO aims to equip learners with the necessary knowledge, skills, and values to effectively prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and disasters. In support of the school's Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) program, the organization actively participates in safety campaigns, capacity-building activities, and coordinated emergency response initiatives. The objectives of SEPRO are to: (1) promote awareness on disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, and safety protocols among students and school personnel; (2) train members in basic life support, first aid, fire safety, evacuation procedures, and emergency communication; (3) assist the school in the planning and implementation of disaster drills and risk assessment activities; (4) encourage student leadership, volunteerism, and teamwork during emergency situations; and (5) collaborate with school authorities, local DRRM offices, and partner agencies to strengthen disaster preparedness and response efforts. Through these initiatives, SEPRO empowers students to become proactive, responsible, and resilient individuals.
