The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) is a school based environmental organization established by the Department of Education (DepEd) under DepEd Order No. 93, s. 2011. It aims to strengthen environmental awareness and action among students in public and private schools in the Philippines. YES-O serves as the official co-curricular environmental organization in schools. It supports the implementation of environmental programs and promotes active student participation in environmental protection and conservation activities. Based on DepEd policies, the objectives of YES-O are: Promote environmental awareness among students and encourage responsible environmental behavior. Support the implementation of school and community environmental programs and projects. Develop leadership skills of students in environmental advocacy and action. Encourage participation in activities such as tree planting, waste management, recycling, climate change awareness, and biodiversity conservation. Strengthen partnership between schools, communities, and environmental organizations in promoting sustainable development.
