The Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), institutionalized by the Department of Education (DepEd), is the highest governing body for student leaders in all public secondary schools in the Philippines. It is composed of elected learner leaders such as the president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, auditor, protocol officers, and the grade-level representatives. It acts as the official voice of students and foster communication and collaboration between students and the administration of schools. At Sillawit National High School, the SSLG organization goes beyond representation. It is dedicated to supporting the full growth of every learner. This includes building leadership skills and encouraging them to be active citizens. Its core objective is to empower students through leadership training, advocate for their rights and welfare, and promote academic, social, and civic excellence. Specifically, the SSLG organization at Sillawit National High School champions quality education, environmental sustainability, good governance, active citizenship, social inclusion, and equity. The organization works to strengthen academic programs, implement environmentally responsible initiatives, promote transparent and accountable student governance, encourage community involvement, and cultivate an inclusive school environment where every student has an equal opportunity and a voice that is truly heard. In addition, the SSLG organizes and supports a wide range of school activities and events that enrich campus life. From academic initiatives to other projects, it plays a vital role in fostering unity and a shared sense of purpose among students. Through these meaningful engagements, the SSLG instills the values of responsibility, cooperation, and social awareness—shaping individuals who will grow into responsible and inspiring leaders.
