The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) unit at Pedro Mariscal National High School stands as a pillar of character formation and youth empowerment within the Sta. Maria, Davao Occidental community. Through the practival application of the Patrol System and the Merit Badge Advancement Scheme, scots are not merely taught leadership theories butare actively placed in positions of responsibility. The primary objective is to instill the core values enshrined in the Scout Oath and Law, fostering integrity, spiritual reverence, and moral discipline. The program aims to divert youth from negative influences by engaging them in constructive challenger - such as camping survival training, and emergency preparedness - that build physical, mental, and social resilience. Furthermore, the unit places a heavy emphasis on active citizenship and nation-building. The scoutss are trained to be the first volunteers for community service, environmental protection initiatives, and disaster response, embodying the motto "Laging Handa" (Always Ready).
