The Ilocos Norte Model ASEAN Meeting will be an avenue to stimulate and nurture critical thinking and leadership skills among its participants by involving them in dissecting regional issues in Southeast Asia. It will become a channel to intensify awareness and appreciation of ASEAN among individuals as well as a platform to materialize understanding of international relations and diplomacy in and of Southeast Asia, highlighting the ASEAN Way. INMAM aims to continue these legacies by furthering initiatives and involvement of the Ilocano youth in echoing the visions and goals of the regional bloc in their daily lives, particularly efforts towards regional development and integration. INMAM emulates the principles and mechanisms of ASEAN by creating a simplified version that sustains the objectives of an actual summit meeting, while resolving relevant and timely issues in the present. In particular, the three community pillars comprising the ASEAN Economic, Political-Security, and Socio-cultural Pillars, spark discussions and negotiations among the ten (10) ASEAN Member-States regarding topics in relative fields, purposefully crafting, proposing, and consulting solutions that would address regional concerns. Each ASEAN Member-State is assigned as role-playing delegate either as a head of government or diplomatic representative in the community pillars.
