Environment

YES-O (Youth for Environment in Schools Organization) is a recognized, school-based, learner-led organization established in accordance with DepEd Order No. 72, s.2003 that promote environmental education, youth leadership, and active student participation. YES-O serves as a platform for learners to develop environmental awareness. responsibility, and stewardship while supporting the school's programs on sustainability. disaster risk reduction, health. and community involvement. The organization engages learners in meaningful activities that strengthen their knowledge. skills, values, and attitudes toward environmental protection and conservation. Through school-and community-based initiatives. YES-O contributes to the development of disciplined, socially responsible, and environmentally conscious citizens, consistent with DepEd's vision of holistic learner development. Objectives The objectives of YES-O are to: 1. Promote environmental awareness, protection, and conservation among learners in support of DepEd's environmental education programs. 2. Develop leadership, cooperation, and volunteerism among students through active participation in school and community environmental activities. 3. Encourage learners to practice proper waste management, climate action, disaster preparedness, and sustainable use of resources. 4. Support the integration of environmental values into daily school life and community engagement. 5. Strengthen partnerships among learners, teachers, school administrators, and community stakeholders in implementing environmental and youth development initiatives.
