Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) in a youth organization are trained community volunteers who promote proper nutrition, health awareness, and healthy lifestyle practices among children, adolescents, and families at the barangay level. As part of a youth-led initiative, they serve as role models and advocates for nutrition by organizing activities such as feeding programs, health education sessions, and monitoring of nutritional status. They work closely with local health workers, schools, and community leaders to address malnutrition and encourage positive behavior change, especially among the youth. Objectives 1.Promote Nutrition Awareness - Educate community members, especially young people, on balanced diets, proper food choices, and healthy eating habits. 2.Prevent Malnutrition – Identify and monitor undernourished children and at-risk youth, and support interventions such as feeding programs and supplementation. 3.Encourage Healthy Lifestyles – Advocate for regular physical activity, proper hygiene, and overall wellness among peers. 4.Support Community Programs – Assist in implementing local health and nutrition projects in coordination with barangay officials and health workers.
