Youth For Peace Movement Tabuan-Lasa Chapter is a active community-based organization in the four island of Tabuan-Lasa Municipality in the province of Basilan, this youth organization established last July 14, 2024 compose of young youth members that aims to transform every youth in the community into empowered peace building leaders who create unity, camaraderie and building bridges between different social groups with fair level of treatment. It enhance the different capabilities of youth and mold into embracing new challenges and experiences. These youth offer a unique perspective on the current issues affecting our community. They are typically passionate, energetic, creative, and they have passion for making a difference in the community itself. Thus, they have the responsibility to create a peaceful future for themselves and the coming generation. Also, they believe that these youth is one of the reason why the people of Tabuan-Lasa are unite again as one. Youth has immense potential to contribute to peace building and conflict prevention efforts in various ways. This piece delves into the role of youth in peace building and conflict prevention, highlighting their potential and the challenges they face. They are the youth leaders of today and voice of tomorrow wherein they have a unique ability in creating peace to mobilize the communities and create positive change. Promoting intercultural and interfaith dialogue and build bridges between different social groups. By doing so, they can help to reduce tensions and prevent conflict. Despite their immense potential, these youth face significant challenges in contributing to peace building and conflict prevention efforts. Enhance the peace-building knowledge and skills of young people and most of these young peace builders create positive impact with minimal resources, it's important to provide them with the tools they need to become more effective change-makers. Lastly, the objectives this youth organization aims to resolve injustice in nonviolent ways and to transform the structural conditions that generate conflict. Youth as peace-builders start with treat people with kindness, regardless of race, gender orientation, religion, etc. They make a difference in the lives of others by making them unite and love one other without any issues and conflicts.
