Layag-La Union Chapter is a youth-led organization established to empower young people through the responsible and innovative use of technology. Founded in November 2025 and formally established in January 2026, Layag operates within the Province of La Union, serving as a dynamic platform for youth development, civic engagement, and creative expression. Guided by its vision of a digitally literate, socially aware, and morally grounded generation, Layag is committed to nurturing informed and value-driven youths who are prepared to actively participate in both local and global communities. The organization believes that technology, when used ethically and creatively, can be a powerful too for education, innovation, and social transformation. Layag's mission centers on advancing digital literacy while fostering social, political, environmental, and moral awareness among the youth. Through programs, initiatives, and collaborative projects, the organization equips its members with critical thinking skills, technological competence, and opportunities to develop youth-led solutions to pressing community and national issues. The work of Layag is anchored on four core pillars: Digital Literacy, which promotes ethical and critical use of digita technologies; Innovation, which encourages creativity, research, and problem-solving; Civicry, which strengthens informed and youth participation in social and governance issues; and Creativity, which harnesses digital arts, media, and creative technologies as tools for engagement and empowerment. As a voluntary and inclusive organization, Layag welcomes youths aged 15 to 30 who share its vision and commitment to service. Through collective leadership, collaboration, and integrity, Layag strives to cultivate empowered youths who contribute meaningfully to community development and nation-building in the digital age.
