Barkada Kontra Bisyo (BKB) is a school-based organization that promotes a drug-free and vices-free lifestyle among learners while nurturing values formation and responsible citizenship. At Mandilikit National High School, it envisions a safe and supportive environment where students are empowered to make positive choices and become morally upright individuals. The organization raises awareness about the harmful effects of drug use and vices involvement through campaigns, symposiums, and peer-led activities. It encourages students to engage in positive and purposeful interactions such as peer counseling, sports, arts, and other productive pursuits that strengthen friendships and help learners stay away from any forms of vices. BKB also fosters collaboration among learners, parents, school officials, and the community to address and prevent drug addiction and other vices. Its goals include incorporating its programs into the school curriculum, promoting the “barkadahan” concept as a protective support system, and developing leadership skills among both students and teachers. The organization also seeks to build strong partnerships with external stakeholders and continuously improve its initiatives through proper monitoring and evaluation. Through these efforts, Barkada Kontra Bisyo helps create a united community committed to promoting healthy, active, and vice-free lifestyles among the youth. It also inspires students to serve as role models by advocating for wellness, discipline, and resilience in facing peer pressure and social challenges.
