The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) of Maryhill College is a governing body dedicated to ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections within the school community. Anchored in the principles of democracy, integrity, and accountability, COMELEC upholds the sanctity of the electoral process by guaranteeing equal opportunities for all candidates and protecting the rights of every voter. It serves as the impartial authority responsible for organizing, supervising, and regulating all electoral activities, while fostering civic awareness and active participation among students. Through collaboration with the School Council, departments, and other organizations, COMELEC strives to create a culture of responsibility, fairness, and respect for democratic ideals. The objectives of the COMELEC are to uphold the integrity and credibility of elections; promote student involvement by encouraging responsible voting and participation; safeguard the rights of both voters and candidates by maintaining neutrality and fairness; ensure transparency and accountability in all election-related activities; coordinate with school authorities to maintain peace and order during the electoral process; enhance existing electoral systems to meet the changing needs of the student body; and educate students on the values of democracy, leadership, and civic engagement. Through these goals, the COMELEC of Maryhill College remains steadfast in its mission to strengthen democratic governance within the institution and to ensure that every Marian’s voice is heard and every vote truly counts, thereby nurturing a school environment that values fairness, trust, and active participation in the democratic process.
