Economic Empowerment

The University of the Philippines Tacloban College Economics Society (UPTC EcoSoc) is the premier academic organization of BS Economics students in the University of the Philippines Tacloban College. The organization exists to foster camaraderie, unity, and academic excellence among Economics students while promoting social consciousness and active youth participation in nation-building. UPTC EcoSoc aims to inform students and the wider community about the vital role of Economics in Philippine society and national development. Through academic discussions, organizational activities, partnerships, and community engagements, the organization encourages critical thinking and multidimensional perspectives on regional, national, and global issues. The organization advocates for economic equity, inclusive and sustainable development, environmental stewardship, market justice, and democratic participation. It also serves as a representative body for Economics students in external engagements, particularly within the Junior Philippine Economics Society (JPES). As a youth-led academic organization, UPTC EcoSoc seeks to develop informed, socially aware, and empowered student leaders who contribute meaningfully to both the university and society.
