Active Citizenship
"The Youth for Humanity and Social Change (YHSC), founded in 2012, is dedicated to empowering Filipino youth by strengthening their knowledge, awareness, and active participation in building a free, democratic, and just society. Guided by its mission, the organization aims to develop young individuals into responsible, informed, and value-driven citizens who uphold human rights, equality, and social justice. One of its primary objectives is to promote personal development among the youth. YHSC seeks to cultivate self-awareness, leadership skills, discipline, and critical thinking through various trainings and seminars. These programs are designed to help young individuals understand their roles in society, build confidence, and develop the capacity to make sound decisions that contribute to their personal growth and the well-being of others. In terms of community development, the organization aims to strengthen youth engagement in community-based initiatives. It encourages volunteerism, collaboration, and participation in programs that address relevant social issues such as environmental sustainability, mental health awareness, and inclusive development. Through these efforts, YHSC fosters a sense of responsibility and solidarity among the youth in addressing the needs of their communities. Furthermore, YHSC promotes nation-building by encouraging the youth to actively participate in democratic processes and civic responsibilities. It raises awareness on governance, public accountability, and the importance of youth representation in leadership spaces. Anchored in the principles of human rights and democracy, the organization ensures that its initiatives promote respect, inclusivity, and dignity for all. Through these objectives, YHSC envisions empowered Filipino youth who are capable of leading meaningful, peaceful, and sustainable social change."
