PSYSC is the largest science umbrella organization in Philippines. The Philippine Society of Youth Science Clubs (PSYSC), through its duly recognized school-based chapters such as PSYSC-CCSASHS, serves as the official science-oriented student organization committed to the advancement of scientific, technological, and environmental awareness among Filipino youth. It functions as an institutional platform that fosters scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and a strong sense of social responsibility, enabling students to apply scientific knowledge and technological innovations in addressing relevant issues within the school and the broader community. Anchored on principles of democratic governance, inclusivity, and active participation, the organization operates with a degree of autonomy under the supervision of school authorities and in accordance with established educational policies. Its primary objectives include cultivating a culture of research, inquiry, and innovation; enhancing students’ appreciation and understanding of science and technology; and promoting active engagement in community-based initiatives that contribute to sustainable development. Moreover, the organization aligns its programs with the principles of Public Understanding of Science, Technology, and the Environment (PUSTE), with the aim of developing values, competencies, and ethical perspectives necessary for the responsible application of scientific knowledge. Through these efforts, PSYSC endeavors to build a competent, responsive, and forward-looking community of young individuals dedicated to the promotion and advancement of science for national and societal development.
