Education, Peace-Building and Security, Governance, Environment

The Supreme Student Government (SSG) has long served as the official student governing body in public secondary schools under the Department of Education. In Laak South District, it has been instrumental in promoting learner participation, leadership development, and involvement in school and community programs aligned with national education goals. With the issuance of DepEd Order No. 47, s. 2022 on October 7, 2022, the SSG was formally transitioned into the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG). This reform aimed to establish a more inclusive and learner-centered governance structure that ensures broader representation and participation of all learners. In Laak South District, the SSLG continues the legacy of the SSG while strengthening leadership practices and collaboration with stakeholders. It serves as a platform for empowering learners to actively engage in school governance and community initiatives. The SSLG is guided by the following objectives: (1) to promote inclusive learner representation; (2) to develop leadership skills and values; (3) to encourage active participation in school programs and decision-making; (4) to implement initiatives supporting academic excellence and well-being; and (5) to foster unity and social responsibility among learners. Through these, the SSLG remains committed to developing responsible, proactive, and service-oriented student leaders.
