Active Citizenship

"The Cano–Concerned Youth Association (CCYA) is a community-based youth organization located in Sto. Niño Village Cano-Concerned HOA, Barangay Talipapa, Quezon City, Metro Manila. It was established on February 1, 2003, and has since been recognized within the local community as an active youth organization. Over the years, CCYA has implemented various community-based programs and initiatives focused on youth participation, volunteerism, and community development. In 2022, CCYA was recognized during an oath-taking ceremony of officers of various community organizations conducted by the local government of Quezon City. In January 2025, a new set of officers was elected to continue and strengthen the organization’s programs and activities. CCYA aims to further develop its programs and expand its impact in empowering the youth and supporting community development. CCYA is composed entirely of youth members aged fifteen (15) to thirty (30) years old. It serves as a platform for youth empowerment and active participation in community development. The organization implements programs such as educational support activities, school supplies distribution, outreach programs, youth seminars, leadership training, and other community-based initiatives that are primarily intended for the benefit of the community. The objectives of the organization are: (1) to promote active youth participation in community development and civic engagement; (2) to organize and implement educational and developmental programs such as seminars, training activities, and school supplies distribution; (3) to conduct outreach and volunteer initiatives that promote social inclusion and community service; (4) to develop leadership skills, teamwork, discipline, and personal growth among youth members; and (5) to initiate programs that promote health awareness, environmental protection, and overall community welfare."
