Mangrove Matters PH (MMPH) is a youth-led environmental organization that mainstreams marine conservation, with a primary focus on mangrove forests and their inhabitants, and coastal communities who are among the most vulnerable to the effects of the climate crisis. Through advocacy, science communication, policy lobbying, and nature-based solutions, we work to raise awareness and take concrete steps to promote the sustainable management of these invaluable natural resources. We envision becoming the Philippines' foremost youth-led organization dedicated to mangrove conservation through science communication, research, advocacy, and community engagement, striving for a sustainable and resilient future. In line with our vision, our organization’s mission is to mainstream mangrove conservation in the Philippines; engage the youth in global and local environmental awareness; and provide nature-based solutions such as mangrove planting initiatives and mangrove nursery management, to restore mangrove forests and combat the climate crisis. We aim to fulfill the following objectives: • To promote the protection, wise-use, and sustainable management of mangrove forests throughout the Philippines; • To empower Filipino youth to become environmental stewards and advocates; • To support coastal communities in building resilience against climate change impacts; • To influence environmental policy and governance to strengthen protection for mangrove ecosystems; and • To advance scientific understanding of mangrove ecosystems through research, development, and knowledge sharing.
