Malilom: Tanghalang Macalelongin aims to lay the groundwork for unity, cultural awareness, and cooperation among youth-artists by providing them a venue where they can improve their artistic talents, leadership abilities, and creative expression. It also seeks to train students to become better, socially responsible members of society by utilizing the power of theater arts as a medium for civic engagement and participative democracy. General Objective To develop the youth as culturally rooted leaders, socially conscious artists, and future builders of the nation through the transformative power of theater and performance arts. Specified Objectives a. To help youth develop a passionate love of country, deep pride in local heritage, and artistic competencies that will enable them to realize their full potential and contribute meaningfully to community building through the arts. b. To represent the youth-artists and the wider youth body in championing creative freedom, youth welfare, and cultural development within the community. c. To help develop a youth-friendly, safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment where young talents can express their thoughts, emotions, and advocacies without fear of judgment. d. To nurture an inclusive, service-oriented, gender-sensitive, and environment-conscious community by staging relevant productions and implementing green theater practices (such as the Eco-Tanghal project). e. To help develop self-confidence, critical thinking, problem-solving, emotional intelligence, and collaborative discipline among youth, utilizing theater as a tool to voice out and address critical political and social issues. f. To empower youth to strive for excellence in both academics and the performing arts, bridging creative leadership with social responsibility to encourage them to become proactive changemakers in society. g. To uphold the core values, principles, and ideals—specifically being Maka-Diyos, Maka-tao, Maka-kalikasan, at Maka-Bansa—through purposeful theatrical storytelling. h. To serve, protect, and promote the holistic well-being, cultural growth, and creative rights of every youth-artist.
