The Ifugao Youth Association (IYA) was then named “Ifugao Students Association (ISA)” at the University of the Cordilleras, Baguio City. On October 2 of the same year, ISA was awarded the Certificate of Registration under the National Youth Commission’s (NYC) Youth Organization Registration Program (YORP). Not long after, ISA was further registered under the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on the same year. The organization is centered towards making “a home away from home” for those students and Ifugao Migrants who are currently in Baguio City and La Trinidad. Activities such as socialization programs, leadership seminars/workshops, basic life skill trainings, tree planting, clean-up drives, rip-rapping, charity concerts, outreach programs and countless other activities where ISA has initiated, attended and participated. Soon after, other schools and within Baguio-Benguet have joined ISA and had to move out from the boundaries of the UC to which they directly associated themselves with the NYC and continued operating in La Union, Nueva Vizcaya and Ifugao itself. On 2019, the organization was then renamed as Ifugao Youth Association (IYA). From 2012 to the present year, IYA continues to uphold brotherhood, peace and order, environmental preservations, volunteerism, community service, mobilizing youth abilities and character building in their youthful activities.
